Job Summary

Morrison BMW and MINI are looking to recruit an experienced service advisor to join our busy aftersales team.

This role of Service Advisor is an extremely important role within the ”The Customer Journey” at MORRISON, as you will be the main point of contact for the customer in addressing any general servicing or specific issues they experience with their vehicle. It is the role of the aftersales administrator to make this process as straightforward as possible for the customer.

Applicants must be dedicated to customer satisfaction and willing to work as part of a Team within a hugely busy award winning Service Department and Retail Centre.

The successful candidate will at all times take pride in being a representative of the BMW, MINI and MORRISON brands.

Main Duties 

Handle telephone calls and walk-in requests from customers wishing to book service or repair work
Determine workshop availability using the workshop loading or booking system
Make suitable appointments for customers
Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure that the correct parts are ordered for the job and will be available.
Meet and greet the customer when they arrive with their vehicle.
Establish a clear understanding of any symptom or problem the customer has with their vehicle. This information is obtained by probing the customer about the vehicle’s performance, by a visual inspection, or by a road test.
Note any damage, scratches, etc. Input all this information on the Job Card to assist the Technician to arrive at a final diagnosis.
Complete Job Card with clear information on each piece of work to be completed by the Workshop.

Verify method of payment and clarify what the customer must pay for.
Liaise with customers while their vehicle is in the workshop to inform them of the estimate of the costs involved in any additional work and obtain authorisation for all such additional work.
Liaise with the Workshop to ensure that the customers’ needs are communicated to the Technicians and negotiate any actions required to ensure that the Customer’s requirements are met.
Ensure that the customer’s vehicle is ready for collection at the pre-agreed time.
When the customer arrives to collect their car, explain all service and repair work completed item by item and how this is reflected in the invoice.
Liaise with customers to discuss Vehicle Health Check (VHC) and deferred work requirements;

Notify customers when backorder parts become available, arrange an appointment, and schedule into the workshop.
Manage booking to maximise workshop productivity.
Assume some appointed duties of the Service Manager or other staff members in their absence.
Any other tasks that may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
To sell vehicle services, parts, accessories, smart repairs, valet services and other services & materials as required.

To book in new and used vehicles from the sales department, arrange bodyshop, dent, interior and workshop repairs where needed

Book in vehicles in accordance with Morrison customer journey;
Provide detailed quotations for customers for all services including valet and smart repairs.
Advise service times (1.5 hours shortest)
Arrange loan/rental cars for customers via DCML and change insurance cover as required.
Arrange payment method with customers.
Confirm bookings with customers in advance.
Change/ rebook vehicles as required.
Cover for positions in the aftersales office

1st Year Apprentice Mechanic / Technician

Job Summary

Morrison BMW is a state-of-the-art premises in Cahir, Co. Tipperary and is an approved BMW Retail and MINI Service Centre.

Hours of Work / Salary

  • Weekly Hours: Standard of 40 hours over 5 x 8-hour shifts. But workload may dictate different hours.
  • Salary will be appropriate for the position.

Main Duties

  • The successful candidate will undergo a comprehensive training program during the apprenticeship.
  • On-The-Job training will consist of;
  • Servicing Vehicles – in accordance with manufacturer’s standards and procedures.
  • Diagnosis – Fault finding, recommending repairs, and carrying out repairs.
  • Warranty repairs – to BMW/MINI standards
  • New Car Inspections
  • General workshop training – safety, environmental, job card write-ups, use of equipment, time management, recording of time, vehicle electronic systems,
  • Weekly Workshop and Valet Bay Cleaning
  • Off-The-Job training will consist of;
  • Classroom training – Mainly theoretical, including maths and science.
  • Practical skills training relating to the role of technician.

Requirements

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Grade D or above in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects. High grades in maths, English and science or technical subjects will be given special consideration.

Personal Characteristics

  • Practical ability with a high level of technical knowledge.
  • Physically fit with the ability to stretch, lift and bend. Nimble fingers to handle small parts and hand tools.
  • Punctual, enthusiastic, positive, and willing to learn.
